Is RedotPay worth it?
For someone who already holds crypto and wants to spend it at any Visa-network merchant without converting through a traditional exchange first, RedotPay removes most of the friction. The card carries no annual fee and charges nothing extra when you spend in your card’s denomination. The two main costs — a 1% conversion fee on each crypto top-up and a 1.2% foreign-exchange fee when spending outside the card’s currency — are clearly disclosed in the Help Center and consistent across the sources we checked.
The honest caution is geography. New registrations in Japan have been stopped. India, Indonesia, Singapore, Turkey, Morocco, Nepal and several dozen other countries cannot issue a card at all. Residents of the United States and Mainland China also cannot use the service. Before deciding whether the card is worth it, confirm that your country is not on the restriction lists linked in the key facts box above.

What are RedotPay’s real costs per transaction?
The fee structure has two independent layers: a conversion fee when you load crypto onto the card, and a foreign-exchange fee at the point of purchase if the merchant’s currency differs from your card’s currency. The table below shows each fee with its source.
| Fee | Rate | When it applies | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crypto-to-card conversion | 1% | Each top-up from a crypto asset | Help Center 10622095, checked 2026-11-07 |
| Spend in card’s currency | 0% | Transaction currency matches card denomination | Help Center 10622095, checked 2026-11-07 |
| Spend in another currency | 1.2% | Transaction currency differs from card denomination | Help Center 10622095, checked 2026-11-07 |
| ATM withdrawal (up to US$10,000/month) | 2% | Cash withdrawal at any ATM | Help Center 10622095, checked 2026-11-07 |
| ATM withdrawal (above US$10,000/month) | 3% | Portion exceeding the monthly threshold | Help Center 10622095, checked 2026-11-07 |
| Specific merchant surcharge | 1.5% (min US$0.50) | Certain merchant categories; first 3 per card/month are free | Help Center 10339275, checked 2026-11-07 |
Worked examples — US$100 purchase:
| Scenario | Top-up cost (1%) | Checkout fee | Total extra cost on US$100 |
|---|---|---|---|
| USD card, merchant charges USD | US$1.00 | US$0.00 (0%) | US$1.00 |
| USD card, merchant charges EUR | US$1.00 | US$1.20 (1.2%) | US$2.20 |
These two fees are independent. The conversion fee is charged once at the time you load your card, regardless of how many purchases you make with that balance. The 1.2% FX fee is charged separately on each purchase where the currency does not match your card. See the full fees guide for ATM examples and the specific merchant category list.

Who is RedotPay good for, and who should skip it?
RedotPay is likely a good fit if:
- You already hold USDT, BTC, ETH or another supported crypto and want to spend it without routing through a bank or separate exchange account.
- You are based in a country where RedotPay can issue cards — not in Japan (new registrations stopped), and not on the card issuance restriction list.
- Your everyday spending is mostly in the same currency as your card denomination, keeping FX fees at 0%.
- You are willing to pay the US$10 (virtual) or US$100 (physical) issuance fee and understand the 1% conversion on each top-up.
Skip RedotPay if:
- You live in Japan — new registrations have been stopped and existing service will end for Japan residents. (Help Center 17634849, checked 2026-11-06)
- You are in India, Indonesia, Singapore, Turkey, Morocco, Nepal or another country on the card issuance restriction list — the card cannot be issued to you. (Help Center 14254838, checked 2026-11-06) See the India page for details specific to India.
- You are in the United States or Mainland China — the service is not available in those regions.
- You need deposit insurance protection — RedotPay is not a bank and crypto balances are not covered by any deposit guarantee scheme.
- You primarily spend in a different currency from your card denomination and want to minimise FX fees — the 1.2% adds up over many cross-currency purchases.
What do users praise and complain about?
RedotPay has a Trustpilot profile. We checked Trustpilot on 2026-11-07 but found conflicting total review counts across aggregator sites, so we do not quote a specific score or count here — check Trustpilot directly for the current figures.
The themes that appear repeatedly across public reviews are:
- Positive themes: ease of linking crypto to everyday spending, card working at Visa merchants, and the absence of ongoing subscription fees.
- Recurring complaints: temporary account holds while additional identity verification (KYC) is requested, and customer support responses that are described as slow or templated.
These patterns are consistent with how most crypto card providers operate: verification holds are common, and accounts flagged for review can be temporarily restricted. The KYC guide explains the verification process and the most common reasons a submission is rejected.
What happens if my account is under review or frozen?
An account “pending review” almost always relates to identity verification. RedotPay requires KYC for all users — it is not optional. The official Help Center article 10339262 lists the specific reasons KYC submissions fail and what to submit to resolve each case. If your account is restricted while a review is in progress, the support team is the correct point of contact; RedotPay does not publish official timelines for review completion.
See the full KYC guide for the document requirements and step-by-step checklist.
How does RedotPay compare with alternatives?
The closest alternatives — KAST, Bybit Card, and Crypto.com Visa — have different fee structures, country availability, and custody models. A fair side-by-side comparison requires sourcing each competitor’s fees from their own official pages with dates. We do that on the comparison page, where each row carries its checked date and source link. If you are based in Pakistan, the Pakistan page covers what the country’s Virtual Assets Act 2026 means for crypto card users there.

How we tested and what we could not verify
Every fee and restriction in this review comes from RedotPay’s official Help Center, with the article number and confirmation date shown in each table. We do not use numbers from third-party review sites where figures conflict with the official source.
Items we could not verify from official sources and therefore do not quote as facts:
- ATM withdrawal limits per day or per month — the official fee schedule does not publish these; check the app or Help Center directly.
- Fees for declined transactions or small-value purchases — third-party sites list figures, but RedotPay does not publish an official schedule for these; we treat them as unconfirmed.
- Trustpilot review score and total count — sources we found gave different numbers; we checked Trustpilot directly on 2026-11-07 but do not quote a figure that may change daily.
