Every RedotPay user must pass identity verification before they can order a card or move funds. This page covers the exact documents you need, the seven steps in the process, and the most common reasons KYC fails—with the official fix for each one.

Do I need KYC for RedotPay?

Yes. Identity verification is mandatory for every RedotPay account holder, without exception. RedotPay states that this is required to confirm your legal identity, secure your account, and comply with global financial regulations. There is no way to hold a card or complete transactions without passing verification first.

If you are from a country on RedotPay’s unsupported list, your KYC application will be declined regardless of the documents you submit. Check the full restrictions list before you start. See also the complete RedotPay guide for an overview of what the card offers.

What documents does RedotPay accept for KYC?

RedotPay accepts three types of government-issued ID: a passport, a national identity card, or a driver’s licence. All documents must be original physical IDs—no copies, screenshots, or photos of a screen are accepted. The document must remain valid for at least three more months from the date you submit it.

How do I complete RedotPay KYC step by step?

The verification flow has seven stages and runs entirely inside the RedotPay app via Sumsub, RedotPay’s identity verification partner.

  1. Personal information — Enter your name, date of birth, and nationality exactly as they appear on your ID. Small typos cause automatic rejection.
  2. ID upload — Photograph your original document on a flat, well-lit surface. All four corners must be visible, with no glare or blur. Upload both sides if your ID carries information on the back.
  3. Face scan — Complete a live biometric scan using your front camera. Remove glasses, hats, or masks. Do not use a pre-recorded video of yourself.
  4. Confirm your details — The system reads your document automatically. Check that nationality, name, date of birth, and ID number match your physical document exactly. Note: identity details can only be corrected once every 180 days.
  5. Residential address — Enter your current address in full. If your area has no postal code, enter 000000.
  6. Short questionnaire — Answer four to five questions about your occupation or main source of funds. This takes around three minutes.
  7. Additional documents (if requested) — In some cases the system asks for a personal statement or proof of funds. Submit within 14 days; missing this deadline results in rejection. Upload JPG, PNG, or PDF files, up to 10 MB each. When all materials are submitted, the review typically completes within 1–3 business days.

Why did my RedotPay KYC fail, and how do I fix it?

The official Help Center lists the following causes of KYC failure along with how to address each one.

Failure reasonWhat to do
Under 18 years oldRedotPay requires users to be at least 18. There is no alternative path.
Unsupported country or regionCheck the restrictions list. Residents of unsupported countries cannot use the service.
Duplicate account (identity already linked to another account)Each identity can only be linked to one RedotPay account. Close duplicate accounts via support, then consolidate assets before restarting.
Information mismatch (name, date of birth, or ID number)Re-enter details exactly as shown on your document, including middle names and correct date format.
Unsupported document type (e.g. residence permit)Use a passport, national ID card, or driver’s licence instead.
Poor photo quality (blur, glare, cropped corners)Retake on a flat, well-lit surface with all four corners visible and no reflections.
Expired or expiring document (less than 3 months’ validity)Switch to a valid document with at least 3 months of remaining validity.
Face scan failed (glasses, low light, pre-recorded video)Remove accessories, use a plain background and good lighting, and perform the scan live. RedotPay can grant a 90-day extension to retry.
Applicant data issue (system cannot read the document)Send a clear photo of your ID to customer support; they will correct the data and resubmit.
Name translation error (non-English ID)Upload your passport as an additional document. If the issue continues, send ID photos directly to support.
Additional document deadline missed (14 days)If you receive a request for a personal statement or proof of funds, submit it within 14 days of the notification.

How long does RedotPay KYC take?

RedotPay does not publish a standard processing time for the initial KYC review. The Help Center does state that if additional documents are requested (step 7 above), the review typically completes within 1–3 business days once all materials have been submitted. For the standard review timeline, check your in-app notifications or contact RedotPay’s official Help Center directly, as processing times may vary.

Why is my account pending review?

An account showing “pending review” or “under review” is in the process of identity verification or an additional document check. This is a normal status during the KYC workflow. If your application has been pending for an extended period after completing all steps, contact RedotPay’s customer support via the in-app chat. Attempting to open a second account to bypass the wait violates RedotPay’s one-account-per-identity rule and will result in both accounts being flagged.

What should I never do?

Search results for “redotpay kyc” include listings offering pre-verified RedotPay accounts for sale. These violate RedotPay’s terms of service. Using another person’s identity documents or purchasing a verified account puts your funds at risk and may expose you to legal consequences for identity fraud. RedotPay enforces one verified account per identity and can freeze or close accounts found to have violated this rule.

Similarly, registering with false personal details or a fraudulent document will cause your verification to fail and your account to be restricted. There is no approved method to bypass the identity verification requirement. See the RedotPay safety page for more on account security and what happens if your account is frozen.

FAQ

Can I use RedotPay without KYC?

No. Identity verification is mandatory for all users before they can access card features or move funds. RedotPay does not publish a KYC-free tier, and no approved workaround exists.

Can I use a residence permit for RedotPay KYC?

Residence permits are generally not supported. The official Help Center advises using a passport or a standard national ID card. In isolated documented cases—for example, a Portuguese residence permit that appears expired in the system but remains legally valid—RedotPay’s support team handles these individually, but residence permits are not a standard accepted document type.

Can two accounts share one identity?

No. RedotPay allows only one verified account per identity. Submitting different document types does not bypass this rule. If you have multiple accounts, you need to consolidate your assets, withdraw from the extras, and contact support to close the duplicates before restarting verification on a single account.
